What Runs in the Family Can End with You
Freedom from Generational Curses – A 7-Week Journey
By Dr. Angela K. Chambers, Ph.D.
π IDENTIFYING THE CURSE
Every family has patterns. Some are beautiful — like traditions, recipes, and values. But others… not so much. Addiction. Anger. Broken relationships. Poverty. Sickness. Rejection. These aren’t just “bad luck” or “personality flaws.” They are spiritual and emotional cycles that can run deep.
But here’s the truth:
π₯ What runs in the family can end with YOU. π₯
It takes a bold and surrendered heart to stand up and say, “This stops with me.” But that’s exactly what God is calling you to do. And you’re not alone.
π SCRIPTURE
“You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations... but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”
– Exodus 20:5–6 (NKJV)
This passage shows that curses are real. But it also shows the other side — mercy. You don’t have to continue living under something that Jesus already made a way to break.
✨ PERSONAL REFLECTION
Ask yourself:
-
What cycles have I seen in my family that seem to repeat?
-
Have I excused toxic behavior as “just how we are”?
-
What would my life and legacy look like without this weight?
Healing begins with honesty.
ππΎ DECLARATION OF THE WEEK
“It ends with me.”
I declare that every curse, every cycle, every stronghold — it breaks now. I stand in the power and authority of Jesus Christ and I cancel every assignment sent against me and my family. I am free.
π ACTION STEP
This week, write a list of patterns in your family you’re ready to break. Pray over each one. Speak life over your future. And start declaring your freedom daily.
