Digging Up the Seeds that Were Sown

Freedom from Generational Curses – A 7-Week Journey

By Dr. Angela K. Chambers, Ph.D.

🌱 Some Roots Run Deep

Some curses don’t show up like a flood. They hide like roots. Beneath the surface. Generations old. Unspoken. Undealt with. Unhealed.

This week, we dig.

We dig past surface wounds. We dig into the silence. Into the secrets. Into the pain that’s been passed down, not because of genetics, but because of silence and survival.

God is not afraid of what’s hidden. In fact, He invites you to expose the hidden places so healing can begin.

πŸ“– SCRIPTURE

“Our ancestors sinned and are no more, and we bear their punishment.”
Lamentations 5:7 (NIV)

Some of what you’re facing didn’t start with you — but it can end with you.
You don’t have to carry it just because they did.

πŸ” REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  • What seeds were planted in my family that we don’t talk about?

  • Where have we learned to hide or cope instead of heal?

  • What fruit (behavior, fear, cycles) can I trace back to pain no one wanted to face?

πŸ™ŒπŸΎ DECLARATION OF THE WEEK

“I uproot every hidden stronghold.”
I no longer carry what isn’t mine. I break agreement with every lie, curse, or spiritual inheritance that does not align with God’s truth. I speak healing. I speak life. I dig it up and let God deal with it.

πŸ“Œ ACTION STEP

Write down one or more unspoken patterns in your family — especially those rooted in pain, silence, or fear.
Bring them into the light.
Speak healing over them.
If you feel led, pray this aloud:

“God, I give You the roots. I don’t want just surface healing — I want You to go deep. Uproot every stronghold that has hidden in my family. Heal what was planted without permission. Restore what was stolen through silence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

This journey isn’t easy, but you’re not walking alone. We’re digging deep so we can rise up.
